Field of Dreams

Are we in heaven? No, it’s Tupper Lake. The Riverpigs had their first game ever Saturday evening. The lighted field, backdropped by mountains under a crescent moon, was movie perfect. State Sen. Stec threw out the first pitch. Mayor Paul Maroun surveyed the scene proudly. Mainly Latino and Black players showed off their baseball skills to a largely white crowd that cheered and cheered. The field was professionally groomed, and the hot dog cart boomed with business. The singing of “Take Me Out To The Ballgame” and “Sweet Caroline” wasn’t bad, either. Well done, Tip Top Town!
