To the editor:

Several years ago, walking to the skatepark, I saw Rich Shapiro carrying large rocks to support a walkway.

Rich is a village trustee who makes things happen. Yes, he has good ideas, and he looks to others for their insights, but then he sees that they take shape, that they make a difference.

He is now working on an affordable housing project that may move from planning to reality in two years or so. Significant change takes time, effort and patience in adapting to unforseen complications. Rich brings an engineer’s keen mind, a respect for others’ opinions, and an intense focus.

He gets it done even when it means hauling rocks. That’s commitment.

Please vote for Rich Shapiro for village trustee.
