ADE made Tupper Lake look bad

To the editor:

Thank you Joseph Kimpflen for speaking out and speaking up for Tupper Lake! You stated perfectly what I, having been born and brought up in Tupper Lake, feel is often a deliberate and negative light of Tupper Lake events reported on in the Adirondack Daily Enterprise. Tupper has a wonderful mix of creative and forward-thinking citizens similar to all other Adirondack communities. I was saddened to see the tone of the ADE article when compared to the very same event reported on in our local Free Press. The choice on how to report was glaring. Perspective.

Everyone, including the media, needs to step back and rethink personal attitudes when speaking publicly and using (or choosing) inflammatory remarks such as ignorant, etc., that did nothing to further the best intentions of those attending the Tupper Lake BLM protest. Those who were at the protest, and countless more who did not attend because they were unaware it was even happening, are offended by the highlighting and reporting on the negative. Especially so because it demeaned our community. And more importantly, it diminished the sincere call for equality and justice.
