Brother still missing

Craig Zeldow (Photo provided)

To the editor:

Craig Zeldow fell out of contact with family and friends in October 2016. As initially reported in the Adirondack Daily Enterprise on Dec. 5, 2016, he left his apartment on Lake Flower Avenue, paid rent to his landlord and has not been seen since. A friend of Zeldow’s traveled with him to Jamestown Falls in the town of Piercefield over Labor Day weekend in September 2016, where the last known picture of Zeldow was taken. There’s no indication of foul play.

Craig’s sister lives in Wisconsin and his brother in California. In July 2017, his sister-in-law Janice Akins visited Saranac Lake and visited sites that Craig was known to have utilized: namely, the grocery store, medical clinic and the Saranac Lake Free Library. Missing person fliers were posted around town. Two of Craig’s former landlords, one from Tupper Lake and the other from Saranac Lake, were contacted to see if there was any contact since his disappearance. Neither had heard anything from him. The Saranac Lake Police Department continues to list Craig as a missing person, but there are no new leads in the case.

Craig’s family would like to thank the public for their good wishes and prayers, as well as “sharing” his story on social media. We had hoped that he would surface, but as time passes, it feels less likely. He hasn’t accessed his bank account in three-and-a-half years now. We miss his humor and his humble nature. We love him, and we miss him.

Anyone with information about Craig Zeldow is asked to contact the Saranac Lake Police Department at 518-891-4422.
