North Country heroes
To the editor:
I am writing this letter today to give a heartfelt thank-you to Dr. George Sarandev, a North Country dentist practicing in AuSable Forks.
I had four front teeth removed in late February and was awaiting the making of a six-crown bridge. A temporary bridge was inserted.
Then corona time. My regular dentist is closed down, along with all others by ADA strong recommendation. Then my temporary bridge came out. I couldn’t eat or sleep for days!
Dr. George Sarandev agreed to accept emergency dental cases for my dentist’s clients’ emergencies.
I’ve never met Doctor Sarandev before today. This exceptional American has a wife and two young children. He and his staff risked their families’ health for me and many others today.
You simply cannot buy for money this form of conduct and concern for fellow human beings.
The calm professionalism and empathy exhibited during this national emergency is truly a blessing.
In these sad and uncertain times, it’s these little islands of empathy that restore my soul and faith in democracy.
To me, a hero is an ordinary person acting extraordinarily under duress and danger to help relieve suffering and prevent death.
This veteran salutes these heroes!
Thought you should know.
