APA stories

To the editor:

As can be learned by reading Wikipedia and other sources, the Adirondack Park is unique in many ways. For example, when it was established in 1885, it was the first state preserve of its type in the nation. About 52% of the land is privately owned. The Wikipedia article adds that “inholdings are heavily regulated by the Adirondack Park Agency.” Since next year will be the 50th anniversary of the APA founding, I decided to research APA accomplishments in that half-century and to determine the impact on individuals who own property in the park.

To obtain information about the impact, I am seeking inputs from all who interacted with the APA. Information should be sent by email to fijohn@roadrunner.com. Textual attachments should be compatible with Microsoft Word, and photographs should use jpeg format.
