Advantages of a roundabout

I favor the roundabout solution for the River Street, Lake Flower Avenue, Brandy Brook Avenue intersection because all cars have to slow down, but few have to stop except in heavy traffic. The throughput is greater than other solutions, and is supported by increased adoption in urban areas all over the country. They provide easy recognition for visitors about how to negotiate the intersection. Roundabouts also teach drivers to employ civility, prudence and courtesy, which may extend to their time on the streets of Saranac Lake.
