A winter haven

To the editor:

We will soon be having snow. Senior citizens living alone will have to start worrying about winter woes. I worry about them living alone.

Why not think about going to Will Rogers for the winter? No worries about having to drive on bad roads. Everything is done for you: shopping, cooking, cleaning up, apartments cleaned, laundry done. They take you to doctor’s appointments, shopping and church. It’s a great place to live, the staff is very respectful, and other residents are friendly. It is affordable, no matter what your income. Call Jamie for more information.

The saddest day of my life is when I had to leave there. I needed more help. Fortunately for me Elderwood had an opening. There again I was lucky. The staff is great. Nurses and CNAs are kind and caring. The kitchen staff are also great. If we don’t care for what is on the menu, there are other entrees to choose from. No complaints from them, no matter how many times you change it. We are not “warehoused;” the people in activities keep us busy. Live music from our generation. Housekeeping keeps are rooms clean. Never hear loud voices. Lots of laughter between staff and residents. We have our own room and bath. Great place to spend our last years. There is a beautiful chapel, Catholic Mass every Sunday at 10:15 and Masses throughout the week. Non-denominational services every Wednesday at 3 p.m. We don’t want for much.

We are fortunate to have these two facilities in our area. Think about it. God bless.
