Emily Kilburn Politi for town council

To the editor:

Politics and bars do not go well together; everyone knows that. However, as the owner of the Lake Placid Pub and Brewery, I know that there have been many times exceptions are made and unwritten rules ignored altogether. This is one of those times.

I am writing today in support of Emily Kilburn Politi for the position of town council. This was not a tough decision for me to make. Emily has been a part of the pub family since the beginning. We have always been very impressed with Emily and knew she would go far in life. Her work ethic and ability to multi-task has set the bar very high for those who have followed in her footsteps. We know that Emily will work to protect the Lake Placid lifestyle she was born and raised with. Emily is always looking out for the community, and her caring and professional manner will be perfect for this position. Raising two young children in Lake Placid, she is focusing on making the community what it should be for generations to come.

In our careers, we don’t like to publicly discuss politics, but when an amazing person such as Emily runs for an important office, it is very important that we show our support. We are also raising our family in Lake Placid, and Emily has earned our trust and friendship through time, work and achievements. So even the forbidden topic of politics in a small town cannot keep me from showing my support to this great person. Lake Placid would be lucky to have Emily in this position, just as we were fortunate for many years with her at the Pub.
