To the editor:

Elected officials serve an essential function in our American federal, state and local governing processes. This fall, residents of Franklin County are fortunate to have several highly qualified individuals seeking election to the county legislature.

I first met Lindy Ellis as a member of the Tri-Lakes Community Alliance for Addiction Prevention. Lindy demonstrated a variety of skills as the alliance prepared for a “Neighbors Helping Neighbors Health and Wellness Fair.” Lindy served as a leader, a consensus seeker, a problem solver, a team player, a mediator, an arbitrator and a doer.

Lindy is bright, creative, hard working, articulate, personable, approachable, has excellent critical thinking skills and displays a sincere concern for others. Lindy possesses all the skills and traits one would seek in an elected official but rarely finds.

I would encourage the citizens of Franklin County to seriously consider Lindy Ellis as a strong and viable candidate for county legislator and support her reelection with their vote.
