North Country Honor Flight an amazing trip
To the editor:
We recently had the privilege of participating in the North Country Honor Flight. It was a trip we will cherish forever! From the surprising send-off from our generous town to the amazing welcoming and departing ceremonies in Plattsburgh, complete with fire trucks from several communities and a 139-motorcycle escort! And especially the hundreds of people who came out to cheer us on, clap and thank our veterans for their service, including some very young folks! We were welcomed with an awesome group of greeters and guides at Dulles Airport, all shaking the hands of our vets, thanking them and giving lots of hugs! It was something to witness.
We had a busy, fun-filled day visiting all the memorials in Washington with a police escort. We can’t say enough about this organization and all the caring people who work so hard to thank our vets and give them a day they will never forget. We are truly blessed to live in this wonderful country and especially in this town of Saranac Lake.
With sincere gratitude,
Howard (Russ) Frizzell, veteran
