Golf thanks

To the editor:

On July 29, the USLA Scholarship Fund, which awards annual scholarships to deserving Saranac Lake and Tupper Lake High School seniors held its first annual golf tournament fundraiser at the Saranac Inn Golf Club. An enthusiastic group of golfers competed for prizes in men’s, ladies and mixed divisions on a beautiful Adirondack summer day. All of the golfers were there to support the area students and came from seven states.

Congratulations to Larry Koch, Fred Cowan and their two mystery partners who captured the men’s division; Kathleen Forlenza, Judy Meagher, Kate Hale and Sandy Otten who won the ladies division; and Suzanne Charles, John Charles, Bruce Setter and Lin Setter who won the mixed division. Each division winner won prizes worth over $100. The closest-to-the-pin winner, Joe Barra, won over $100 in merchandise.
