To the editor:
The VFW Auxiliary of VFW Post 3357 would like to thank everyone who participated in our Spring Raffle. The winners are as follows: first prize, Travis Minnie; second prize, Forrest Pennington; third prize, James Osborne Sr.; fourth prize, Jennifer Zahn.
The VFW Auxiliary of Post 3357 is busy throughout the year supporting veterans and our community by hosting the Veterans Day luncheon and participating with the Bloomingdale School Veterans Day assembly, participating in the Memorial Day parade, running a poppy fund drive along with our membership drive, organizing the cell phone collection for soldiers. We donate to Creative Healing Connections for women veterans, Wreaths Across America, Syracuse VA hospital, VFW Disaster Relief Fund, POW/MIA fund, commander’s special projects, veterans and family support programs, the Vietnam Veterans Moving Wall and the National Children’s Home.
Locally every year we give a graduating Saranac Lake High School senior a scholarship, and we have made donations to the Saranac Lake youth activities summer program, the Saranac Lake Youth Center, the middle school Back Pack Program, the Humane Society, the rescue squad, the ecumenical house, High Peaks Hospice and the food pantry.
