I’m writing this following a total knee replacement here in Saranac Lake. First of all, thanks to Dr. Smith and his staff. The office scheduled everything I needed, and Dr. Smith was great. I couldn’t have asked for better orthopedic care.

Our hospital is fantastic. From the moment this process started, I felt at ease. Medical Imaging began with my MRI to personalize my implants. Then the total joint class, designed to provide information and answers to all the questions still percolating in one’s mind. Then registration streamlined my admission. Kudos to all the following: ASU, OR, PACU and surgical floor. The RNs, surgical technicians, CNAs, lab, dietary and PT — in house and outpatient — you all helped me on the way to recovery.

Dr. Norton and Shelly Fisher, CRNA, great job. Your caring expertise in my anesthesia made the procedure pain free.

Also, thanks to the environmental service staff. Not only did you clean my room, but you never failed to ask if there was anything else you could do for me.

Having major orthopedic surgery is a big deal. Our hospital is top notch, just having received status as a Center of Excellence for Total Joint Surgery, and everyone guided me through the process.

And most importantly, our community friends who have assisted Judy and I, you have made this a healing experience. Your love and support is always near us.
