Australian soldiers in Vietnam

To the editor:

In the spring of 1967, I was fortunate to meet some Aussies stationed at Nui Dat when we were at Vung Tau and was very impressed with their friendliness, to the point that I thought a country where the people were that pleasant must be a place where I could be happy to live. However, when my tour ended I came back to home and family here. I never forgot that meeting and the warm feelings for them. I still wonder what those guys were doing over there. It would be good to see them again under better circumstances. Best wishes to them on Anzac Day.
