To the editor:

On Tuesday Jan. 15, the Enterprise published an opinion piece by Froma Harrop regarding the federal employees and the government shutdown. This piece attempts to place some blame on the workers for not having adequate savings. Who is she to judge people without knowing their situations? Are these employees single parents? Are their spouses stay-at-home moms/dads? Do they have medical issues? Are they caring for a parent/grandparent? Are they paying off excessive student loans? There could be many other situations to explain why they are living paycheck to paycheck. I find her piece disgraceful, and it’s sad that the Enterprise published it.
