Ellis is a ‘servant leader’

To the editor:

It is my privilege to write a letter of support for Lindy Ellis in her bid to return to the Franklin County board for 2019.

As a retired superintendent-CEO of a school district, I understand the important and significant role of elected officials, and I believe that Lindy Ellis brings a unique and valuable set of skills to such a position. Lindy is a visionary who is able to picture a better future and who is also prepared to put her shoulder to the wheel and assist with the heavy lifting if that is what is required. She is energetic and capable, and has the ability to persevere and see a project to completion.

Lindy is a “servant leader,” never asking others to do more than she is willing to do herself. She is always eager to listen to anyone who has ideas that will make a positive difference in their community. She can articulate the vision for a project and can motivate others to join her in seeing it to completion.

Lindy understands the importance of principled leadership and the power of building team. Her leadership expertise has literally carried her around the world, including work in recent years in Japan and Korea: consulting, working and sharing with major corporations the path to effective leadership and team building. Her work on the Franklin County Traffic Safety Board, the Saranac Lake SkatePark Committee and the Parks and Trails Advisory Board are just a few examples of her community contribution.

For all of the above, without reservation I encourage you to vote on Nov. 6 for Lindy Ellis and allow her to continue to serve you as a legislator for Franklin County District 7 in 2019.
