Red Kettle Campaign raises $9,000 for Saranac Lakers

To the editor:

We are writing to personally thank the generous people of Saranac Lake who gave to the Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign this past holiday season. Thanks to your generosity, we raised approximately $10,000, of which 90 percent is used to help families in the Saranac Lake area with emergency needs like housing, food, clothing and other necessities.

We also give our personal thanks to those hands-on volunteers who rang the bells loudly this year: Rich, Cathy, Shirley, Jim, Nancy, Diane, Jackie, Cal, Rod, Jason, Doug, Diane, Mary, Eddie, Elizabeth, Maggie, Laura, Angela, John, Franny, Ann, Bruce, High Peaks Youth Group, Dorothy, Phil, George, Susan, Chris, Ann, Cathy, Beth, Chuck, Ingrid, Natalie, Jenny, Lakeside House, Bonnie, Judy, Phyllis, Joseph, the Crowleys, Pat, Virginia, Zach, Cathy, Rosalie, Stephanie, Jim, Linda, Judy, Suzanne, Diane, Jason, Dave, Sylvia, Mistre and Maggie.

Finally, we also want to especially thank the organizations who gave us space and helped us to “ring the bell”: Saranac Lake Post Office, Kinney Drugs, Tops at Lake Flower Avenue, Hyde Fuel Mobil stations, McKenzie’s Grill and the Adirondack Daily Enterprise.

May all the best be with you, Saranac Lake!
