To the editor:

As a lifelong resident and avid snowmobiler, I find it inexcusable that the president of the Tri-Lakes Snowmobilers, Brian Durkee, was not even approached to be a part of the rail trail discussion. Lake Placid is represented by Mr. McCulley. Mr. Durkee represents the Saranac Lake, Bloomingdale, Gabriels, Lake Clear, Onchiota, Rainbow Lake, Paul Smiths and Vermontville areas of the directly and indirectly affected region, and I’m sure I’ve forgotten some. Brian is a terrific ambasssador for the sport. Experienced and well spoken, he carries the voice for all of the club members as well as business and property owners all along the corridor, and should be included from here on out. Thank you.
