Solarize Tri-Lakes campaign to end

To the editor:

Solarize Tri-Lakes, a campaign to raise awareness of the benefits of solar energy, is concluding at the end of September. Over the past two years, more than 500 community members have registered to receive solar assessments of their homes or businesses. Many of these assessments resulted in solar installations that provide most if not all of the occupant’s electric needs. There should be no doubt that solar energy is both possible and cost-effective in our northern climate. Ask any landowner who has invested in solar about their lower electric bills and the pride they feel as their panels generate clean, renewable energy. As solar advocates, we are encouraged that members of our small communities have been overwhelmingly receptive of this program.

Sept. 30 is the deadline to sign up for a free solar assessment with Solarize Tri-Lakes and qualify for the campaign’s guaranteed group pricing. Despite the campaign coming to a close, now is still an excellent time to invest in solar. Solar panels and cost of installation are at an all-time low while state and federal incentives to invest in renewable energy remain in place. The best way to determine if solar is appropriate for your home or business is to have your site evaluated by a solar professional. Sincerely,
