State plan good for business
To the editor:
To whom it may concern:
As a resident and business owner in Tupper Lake, I feel strongly about removing the rails and ties to Lake Placid and leaving the tracks in place from Tupper Lake south.
This will be a good compromise for everyone: those who are for and those who oppose the rails.
We need trails for outdoor enthusiasts to help our business, and tourists, as well as the residents of our area.
We need the snowmobilers to have access to our community. At this time, it is difficult for them to pass on the railroad tracks and sometimes impossible. We need the winter business, and local snowmobilers need easier access to trails.
In addition, people who travel to our area would have the opportunity to enjoy long trails for hiking, biking and running.
I ask that you remove the rails so that we have better use of the area for everyone who lives here and visits.
Sincerely,
Jerzy Maliszewski
