Aunt Julie raised nieces

To the editor:

My Aunt Julie, who is running for Supreme Court justice, definitely deserves this position. My little sister and I lived with her for about 10 years, after the passing of my mother. Aunt Julie has always harped on my sister and me about having decent grades and making the right choices, because she wants the absolute best for us. Even the friends whom I grew up with call her “Aunt Julie” as well because she has done so much for them, too. From offering a place to stay to bringing us chocolate pudding at drama rehearsal to making sure we had a snack, she was always there for us and has always made my friends feel like family.

I thank Aunt Julie for teaching me manners and study skills, for giving me the motivation and confidence to go to college. From her I have gained leadership skills. For 10 years, it was just us three girls in the house, and Aunt Julie taught me that women can be just as strong as men, and that there is no such thing as a “man’s job.” The three of us stacked woodpiles, raked the lawn, took weekly trips to the dump and completed any other chores that needed to be done. My Aunt Julie is always the person I call when I’ve had a rough day and need some advice, and she has always had the best. I strongly recommend my Aunt Julie Garcia for Supreme Court justice.
