Image of the Week

Saturday, May 18 is International Museum Day! Saranac Lake has been home to at least one museum since 1925, when the Stevenson Society of America opened the building known as the Stevenson Memorial Cottage. The small cottage honors Stevenson and his time in Saranac Lake in 1887-88. You can visit the museum six days a week from July 1 to Sept. 15, and by appointment year-round. The Saranac Laboratory Museum opened to the public in 2009, and is open Tuesday to Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Why not celebrate International Museum Day by visiting one or both of the museums?! We’ll have free admission, special activities, and root beer floats donated by Stewart’s! (Photo provided — Historic Saranac Lake Collection, 2021.3.54.
