AT LEFT: Arthur Steneri, Sr., was born and raised in Saranac Lake. In his 20s, he was a patient at Trudeau Sanatorium due to a collapsed lung, and he documented his time there with a wonderful series of photographs. This photograph shows Steneri after a few months of treatment at Trudeau, having gained 15 pounds! Steneri’s father was Philip Steneri, who worked as a carpenter and glazer at Branch & Callanan when he wasn’t directing the Saranac Lake High School band. (Photo provided — Historic Saranac Lake)
