Karen Marie (Fleury) Brown
Karen Marie (Fleury) Brown, aged 70, of Palm Coast, Florida and formerly Saranac Lake, New York passed away at Advent Health in Palm Coast, Florida on Saturday, Nov. 15, 2025.
Karen was born on Oct. 8, 1955 in Malone to Theresa (Johnson) Fleury and Leon “Tuffy” Fleury of North Bangor. Graduating from Franklin Academy High School in 1973, Karen went on to study nursing at North Country Community College where she graduated in 1975 with her LPN. Karen then went on to earn her RN and return to North Country Community College, where she earned her associate degree in nursing in 2004.
Karen worked for Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake, New York until 2003. She was known for working in the maternity ward, along with the lab as her phlebotomy skills were like no other; she then worked for North Star before moving to Florida in 2006. Once in Florida, Karen worked for Flagler Hospital and the Infusion Center where she assisted patients who were undergoing cancer treatments.
Outside of work, Karen was a life member of VFW Post 8696 and Eagles Post 4481. She had a love for life and could be found dancing at any party where there was music; she he loved to listen to her brothers Kevin and Kenny play music and was always the first on the dance floor. Karen married the love of her life, Allen Brown, on April 29, 1977 at St. Augustine’s Church in North Bangor, New York. Together, they loved to attend music concerts, go on cruises, and travel to places she always wanted to go, to include Nashville, Tennessee and to see Field of Dreams in Iowa.
Karen was predeceased by her mother and father, brothers Kurt and Kevin Fleury, and a step-brother, Billy Marshall. Karen leaves behind her husband Allen, children Nicole of Daytona Beach, Florida; Jill Bailey (Jason) of Moira, New York, and Derek (Danielle) of Cadyville, New York. Karen is also survived by her grandchildren Avery and Robbie Rosen; Kadence, Kenadi, and Kiara Bailey; Killian Brown, and Gavin and Soneya Maicus; her brother Kenneth (Lori) Fleury of North Bangor, New York; a sister Kathy (Rob) Suggett of Hamilton, Ontario; Brenda (Cris) Reeve of Vermontville, New York; sister-in-laws Bonnie Fleury of Moira, New York and Diane Fleury of Malone, New York; step-father Frank Marshall of Belmont, New York as well as step brothers and sisters, Alan Marshall, Kenny Marshall, Bobby Marshall, Connie Marshall, Ronnie Nichols, and Maureen Soulia, along with many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held at the VFW post in St. Augustine on Saturday, Nov. 22, from 2 to 5 p.m. for those wishing to celebrate Karen’s life with her family. A second celebration of life will be held in New York in the spring, (date and location to be announced) for family and friends to gather to remember Karen.
