Richard P. Burngasser

Richard “Rick” P. Burngasser, age 65, of Lake Clear, died peacefully on Saturday, Oct. 18, 2025 with family by his side.

Rick was born in Tonawanda, New York, on July 5, 1960, to Norbert and Rosemary Burngasser.

He moved to Saranac Lake in 1992 after accepting a job at Newman & Holmes where he worked as a glazer for 25 years until transferring to Aubuchon Hardware.

Rick was an avid fisherman and a die-hard Buffalo Bills fan. He loved camping, boating and spending time with his grandkids and his beloved dog, Lucy.

He is predeceased by his parents, his son Ryan and his sister Marlene.

He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Maureen, his daughter Kerri and his sons Kyle and Raymond; two step-daughters, Kaleen Meehan and Jamie La Mountain and her husband Devin; his siblings Charlie (Mary), Karen (Tom), Sandie (Mike), Cindy, Laura (Mark) and Beth (TJ); seven grandchildren, Lia, Lennox, Killian, Quinn, Emily, Olivia and Henry; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are set to take place on Thursday, Oct. 23 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. A mass of Christian burial is set to take place at at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 24 at St. Bernard’s Church Chapel with Rev. Martin Cline officiating.
