Donald J. Branch

Donald “Donny” Branch was born in Saranac Lake, New York, on December 10, 1958, to Donald Joseph Branch and Joan Marion White. He passed away on Wednesday, June 4, 2025.

Donny graduated from Franklin Academy High School in Malone in 1977. He worked mainly in the printing business early in his career and moved into Retail Merchandising later in his career.

Donny was an avid music fan (The Rolling Stones especially), a sports enthusiast and a big NASCAR and racing fan. His own red Camaro was his pride and joy as well as his blue Camaro (IROC-Z) he had later. He also became a Washington Commanders fan after to moving to Virginia as a young man. His love of the Adirondacks, where he was born and raised, was also evident. His favorite saying was: “You can take the Boy out of the Country, but you can’t take the Country out of the Boy.”

Even though these were many of Donny’s favorite hobbies, his true love was for his daughter, Sarah, future son-in-law, Ross, grandson, Logan, and granddaughter, Allie. He was so proud of them and spent as much of his free time as possible with them. Whether it was attending their soccer and basketball games or gymnastics, “Pop Pop” was there. You are greatly missed, Pop Pop.

He is survived by his mother, Joan Branch; his brother, Al Branch; sisters Nancy Riegel, Brenda Harder and Joanne Riccio; and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. He is also survived by his daughter Sarah Primeau (Liner), her fiance Ross Armstrong, and grandchildren Logan Primeau and Allie Armstrong. A private celebration of life service will be held in Virginia in September.
