Lee Mandigo Sr.

Lee Mandigo Sr. passed away at age 89 at Elderwood of Uihlein at Lake Placid on July 22, 2025.

Lee was born on April 27, 1936, to Clifton and Louise (Whalin) Mandigo Sr.

Lee graduated from Tupper Lake High School and then went into the Army, serving in Africa. Lee loved the adventure of Africa; he thought it was very beautiful, and the people were very friendly. He served in the Army from 1957 to 1959, earning an honorable discharge before returning home to Tupper Lake.

Shortly after Lee moved to Saranac Lake, he started his own TV Business called “Lee’s TV” for over 25 years until he retired.

Lee and his former wife Peggy Malark shared five wonderful children: John Mandigo, Anne Mandigo, Joseph Mandigo, Lee Mandigo Jr. and Debra Mandigo. Lee loved spending time with his family, whether it was fishing, hunting, or snowmobiling.

Lee is survived by his son, Joseph Mandigo and Ginger Garrow, Lee Mandigo Jr. and Linda Demo, and his daughter Debra Mandigo. Lee is also survived by his loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Lee was predeceased by his parents, Clifton and Louise Whalin Sr.; daughter Anne Mandigo; son John Mandigo; three brothers, Howard, Clifton Jr. and Robert; and five sisters, Virginia, Abby, May Catherine and Roberta. He was also predeceased by his long-time companion Sheila Ferguson.

Funeral arrangements are in care of the Frary Funeral Home, 24 Cliff Ave., Tupper Lake. Calling hours will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday July 29 at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held immediately following at 6 p.m. with the Rev. Paul Kelly officiating. Burial will take place on Wednesday July 30 at 10 a.m. at Holy Name Cemetery in Tupper Lake. A reception will follow.
