Phillip A. Tucker
Phillip A. Tucker, age 80, Altona, died Saturday, May 24, 2025 at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.
Born in Saranac Lake on Jan. 19, 1945, he was the son of Phillip H. and Myrtle (Crowningshield) Tucker. Phillip married Merideth Sherman on Saturday, July 3, 1965 in New Haven, Vermont.
Phillip had been employed for General Electric in Schenectady where he and Merideth lived and raised their family for 35 years until his retirement in 2005. Following retirement, Phillip and Merideth moved to Altona, New York.
Philip enjoyed music, radios and cars. He could often be found driving around in his limousine or Model A.
Phillip is survived by his wife Merideth of Altona, their three children Phillip (Maggie) Tucker of Peru, Jennifer Tucker of Schenectady and Henry Tucker of Hudson, Florida, 12 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, one sister Phyllis Johnston of Saranac Lake and many nieces and nephews. Also, his beloved cat Patches.
Calling hours will take place at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home on Monday, June 2, from noon to 1 p.m. A funeral service will immediately follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Martin Cline officiating. Burial will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery in Saranac Lake.
