Timothy C. Kilroy

Timothy C. Kilroy, 80, of Saranac Lake, died Wednesday Aug. 21, 2024, at the home of his son Shane in Dexter, New York, with his three sons by his side.
Born on March 21, 1944, he was the son of Carlton Lewis and Delores Bernadette (White) Kilroy.
Tim married Doris Elaine Gosier on May 27, 1967, at St. Bernard’s Church in Saranac Lake. She predeceased him on Jan. 9, 2022.
Tim was a lifelong resident of Saranac Lake, where he served as a police officer in the Saranac Lake Police Department for a time. He also worked as a corrections officer in Florida and worked in the maintenance department at St. Joseph’s Rehabilitation Center in Saranac Lake for many years. Tim continued to work as a school bus driver for the Saranac Lake Central School District for many years until his retirement. He was an avid drummer like his father and enjoyed playing jazz and big band music. He especially liked anything with a motor, muscle cars, motorcycles, snowmobiles and boats which he passed on to his sons at an early age. Tim also served in the New York State National Guard for several years.
He is survived by his three sons, Shane Kilroy of Dexter, Brett Kilroy of Saranac Lake, and Tim (Ashley) Kilroy of Champlain; three grandchildren Morgan (Savannah Simmons) Kilroy, Megan (Dalton) DeMarco and Ashton Kilroy, stepgrandchildren Peyton Thomas and Alyssa Wales; great-granddaughters Harper and Ella DeMarco; great-grandsons Louis DeMarco and Wyatt Kilroy; brothers Michael Kilroy and Thomas (Laura Rice) Kilroy, both of Saranac Lake; sister Maureen (Al) McKeough of Barefoot Bay, Florida; and sister-in-law Jane (Michael) White of Adams.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother.
Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. At Tim’s request, there will be no calling hours or services.
