Joseph M. Bombard

A funeral Mass for Joseph M. Bombard, age 58, of Tupper Lake, will be held on Monday, June 10, 2024 at noon at St. Alphonsus Church with Rev. James Teti officiating. Calling hours will be on Monday, June 10, 2024, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Frary Funeral Home.

Mr. Bombard passed away on Monday, June 3, 2024, at his home.

Joseph was born on Dec. 15, 1965, in Tupper Lake, the son of Alfred Bombard and Rita (Frechette) Peets. He graduated from Tupper Lake High School in 1984 and attended Florida State University. For 26 years he worked for the state Department of Corrections as an officer at Adirondack Correction Facility in Ray Brook and attained the rank of sergeant. He retired from Upstate Correction Facility in Malone.

No one cheered for the Dallas Cowboys as loud as Joe. He was as much a handyman as he was a jokester. If he wasn’t found with a tool in hand, he was surely holding a golf club in one and an Arnold Palmer Iced Tea in the other. He could almost always be seen sporting a hoodie for any university his children attended, and his favorite hobby was telling everyone about how proud he was of all of them.

He is survived by his children, Keegan Bombard, of Tupper Lake; Kollin Bombard and his wife Jenna, of Tupper Lake; Kiarra Bombard, of Birmingham, Alabama; Kaylee Bombard, of Ruston, Louisiana; his fiance, Amy Charland, of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania; and children, Emily and Matthew Charland, both of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania; grandchildren Maia Moody, Skye Bombard, Oaklynn Bombard and Skylyn Charland; his siblings, Janet Roberts and her husband Wayne, both of Tupper Lake; his sister-in-law Susan Fuller-Bombard, of Fort Pierce, Florida; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred Bombard and Rita Peets; stepfather Donald Peets, his brother James Bombard, and his sister Jeanne Crubaugh and her husband Roger.
