Kathy A. Neale

The Neale family sadly announces the passing of Kathy Ann Neale.

She was a longtime resident of San Antonio, Texas. Her faith in God became sight on Jan. 9, 2024, following a short illness.

Kathy was born on June 25, 1960 in Elmira to Richard and Elizabeth Neale. She is survived by an older brother Wayne (Laura) Neale of Newark, Ohio, younger brothers Mark (Crismarie) Neale of Fort Edward and David (Stacy) Neale of Bloomingdale, as well as a younger sister Marian Neale of San Antonio Texas, along with several nieces and nephews.

Kathy grew up in Gabriels, and attended Saranac Lake schools. She graduated in 1978 as the class valedictorian. She was in the National Honor Society, and played flute as well as saxophone in the high school band. She attended Bates and Cornell colleges and graduated with a PhD in microbiology.

Kathy settled in the San Antonio area after graduating college and quickly decided to pursue her true passion and worked as a florist. As a result of that decision, countless weddings, funerals, birthdays and various events were made more beautiful by her skill and experience. She never married, but is remembered as a sweet aunt, a loving sister, a good friend and a soft spoken and godly woman. She will be missed.

A memorial service was held on Jan. 23 at Our Lady of Guadalupe in Helotes, Texas.
