Mark Ross

Mark Ross, 66, of Mexico, New York, formerly of Galway, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2022, after a brief illness, with his family by his side. Mark was born in Saranac Lake to Russell and Mary Louise Ross.

Mark worked as a truck driver with SOFCO for 30 years. Mark loved fishing, was an avid NASCAR fan and loved spending time on his boat on the great Sacandaga Lake. He was a dedicated father, raising his daughter by himself. He and Ashley had a very strong bond and friendship. He loved spending time with his cherished grandson.

Mark was most happy at the beach with his sweetest girlie girl. He was a gentle giant, whose friends fondly referred to him as a very kind and caring man. Mark was dedicated and tirelessly cared for his fiancé, Hope, until his illness would not allow him to. Mark and Hope’s relationship was a true love story. Their love for one another was so strong.

He was predeceased by his parents, Russell and Mary; his brother, Russell Ross, and an infant brother, Timothy Ross. Mark is survived by his fiancé, Hope Lenhart; his daughter, Ashley Ross; grandson, Ashtohn Bonds; his siblings, Mary Lou (Tom) Cassavaugh, Brian (Sharon) Ross, Mia Ross, Patricia (Richard) Meagher, Miles Ross, Greg (Amy) Ross and Lisa (Mike) Doney; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be celebrated at 1 p.m on Wednesday, Dec.7 at the First United Methodist Church of Mexico, 4372 Church St., Mexico, New York, with Pastor Brandin Greco Officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church prior to the service. Following the funeral services will be a luncheon in the Church Hall. Arrangements are in care of Harter Funeral Home, Inc. 9 Washington Ave., Mexico, New York.
