Irene Theresa Tummons

She was born on April 13, 1962 in Saranac Lake, the daughter of the late Henry and Theresa (LaBrake) Tummons.

Irene served her country in the US Air Force. She traveled the world. She rode across the country with her “superstar” Harold, three times. She accomplished anything she put her mind to. She lived for an adventure. She enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her family and friends, especially her boys.

If you had to pick one word to describe Irene, it would have to be “resilient!” Nothing ever stood in her way, and she lived life on her accord to the fullest. She was glorious. She will be greatly missed by all.

Irene is survived by her beloved Harold Hitt of Cartersville, Georgia; her siblings, Donald (Carol) Tummons of McCormick, South Carolina, Patricia (David) Mitchell of Naples, Florida, Bruce (Pam) Tummons of Naples, Florida, Sandra (John) Gagnon of Saranac Lake; her sons, Gordon (Lynne) Dowis of Cartersville, Georgia and Geoffrey Dowis of Dallas, Georgia; and 2 grandsons, many nieces and nephews, and lots of friends.

Services will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
