Norma Divine Schoonover
Norma Divine Schoonover, born Oct. 5, 1940, known as “Diddy” to her friends and family, passed away at home in South Carolina surrounded by family on Feb. 18, 2022.
Diddy arrived in Lake Placid as a young girl, where she spent most of her life. Diddy was a true lady of the lake; kind with a quick smile and loyal to friends and family.
Her friends will remember her waving hello from the front porch of her Lake Placid camp. She loved Lake Placid fiercely and her passing is a loss to all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph K. Schoonover, and daughters, Kim Perrigo, Karen Schoonover and Kirstin Schoonover, as well as grandchildren, Kelsie, Anna, Joey and Abraham. She was predeceased by her daughter Ketti Schoonover in 1994. She is also survived by her sister Lorinda Gallagher and brother Lees Divine.
A memorial will be held July 16 at High Peaks Resort, 2384 Saranac Ave., in Lake Placid from 1 to 4 p.m. Her friends are welcome to join to share memories and celebrate her life.
