Dennis John Greenier died Tuesday morning, July 19, 2022, in Macon, Georgia, on his 85th birthday.

He was born in Pearl River, New York, on July 19, 1937, the eldest child of Harold J. and Grace (Clancy) Greenier. He graduated from the Kentucky Military Institute in 1955 and subsequently joined the Air Force from 1956 to 1960. He married Patricia Tanzini in St. Bernard’s Church in Saranac Lake on Sept 7, 1957. In 1961, he joined the U.S. Border Patrol. He and his family lived in Arizona, Texas, and Florida, but they spent the most years in Chazy. Upon Dennis’s early retirement in 1987, he and Patricia moved to eastern Tennessee and lived there until Patricia’s death in 2016. At that point, he moved into assisted living in Macon, Georgia, where his son Keegan lives. His health deteriorated over the course of 2021, and in the fall of that year he moved into a nursing home where he lived until his death. Dennis was an avid reader his entire life. He also enjoyed golf, watching football and a good steak.
