Lois Mae Burl
Lois Mae Burl, formerly of Saranac Lake, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2022 in home hospice in Gibsonia, Pennsylvania. Lois died peacefully surrounded by her children and loving cat Ruby.
Born in Saranac Lake, Lois was the daughter of Owen and Edna (Gadway) Burl. She was predeceased by her son Charles and is survived by her children Sue (Fox) Rivers of Saranac Lake, Michelle (Todd) Polanowicz of Gibsonia, Pennsylvania, Sally (Tiny) Rivers of Brushton, Dawn (Ray) Monette of Potsdam, and Stuart (Kammy) Rivers of Constable. Lois was also survived by her brother Max Burl in Severn, Maryland and her daughter-in-law Kelley in northern New Hampshire. Lois was also the proud grandma to 16 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
According to Lois’s wishes and due to COVID-19 there will not be any scheduled services. A private family celebration of Lois’s life will be held at a later date to scatter her ashes near the former family home in Lake Placid.
