Mildred Anthony

Mildred Irene (Vosburgh) Anthony, longtime resident of Niagara Falls and currently of Wilson, New York, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 17. She was 91. She was born in Niagara Falls, New York on Dec. 22, 1929, a daughter of the late Rexford W. and Beulah I. (Sherman) Vosburgh.

She attended local schools and on Aug. 1, 1948, she married Richard G. Anthony and together they raised their family. They remained happily married for nearly 44 years until his passing in 1992.

Mrs. Anthony loved the Adirondack Mountains and lived in Saranac Inn with her husband since 1989 before moving to Lockport, where she lived for the past two years. She loved hummingbirds and time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by 5 children: Marcile I. (late Terry) Bond, Nancy L. (Joseph) Rizzotto, Richard L. (Ruth Patton) Anthony, Sheila J. (Mark Arsenault) Anthony, and Lisa A. (Dave) Kelly. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by four siblings: Charles (late Wanda) Vosburgh, Betty Chandler, James (late Florence) Vosburgh and Rexford (late Margaret) Vosburgh.

A funeral service for Mildred will be held on Saturday, July 24, at 10 a.m. at Lake View Cemetery with Pastor Rick Wilburn officiating.
