Kathleen Anita ‘Kay’ Crowley

Kathleen Anita “Kay” Crowley, 100, passed away on Saturday, March 27, 2021, in Clifton Park, with her family at her bedside.

Kathleen was born on March 14, 1921, in Jay. She was the daughter of Grace Bartlett and Mark Devlin.

Kathleen married James Crowley at Holy Name Catholic Church in AuSable Forks on Dec. 28, 1940.

Kay and Jim are the parents of five children: Robert (Sally) of Lake Placid; Thomas (Nancy) of The Villages, Florida; Richard (Barbara) of Cicero; Christine (Carl) of Clifton Park; and Patrick (Margaret) of Castleton. Kay and Jim have 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren, who were her pride and joy.

Following Jim’s retirement in 1972, Kay and Jim spent the next 30 years spending six months in Saranac Lake and six months in New Smyrna Beach, Florida.

Kay was predeceased by her husband of 77 years; her father and mother; her brothers: Francis, Jack, Bob and Gene Devlin; and her sisters: Eileen Carron and Rita Wilkins.

Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. A Mass of Christian burial will take place at St. Agnes Church in Lake Placid on May 22 at 10 a.m. with Father John Yonkovig officiating. Burial will immediately follow in the family lot in St. Agnes Cemetery in Lake Placid. Kathleen’s grandchildren will be her pallbearers. Family and friends attending in-person funeral services are asked to please follow all COVID-19 recommendations including social distancing and wearing a mask.
