Glenn passed away late evening on Thursday, April 1, 2021, at his home surrounded by his loving family in Tupper Lake.

Glenn is survived by his loving wife Theresa Flagg; his five children: Sue Ann Flagg of Tupper Lake, Richard (Audrey) Flagg of Tupper Lake, Mary Ann Flagg (Kevin Dustin) of Durhamville, Gene Paul Flagg (Michelle Pickering) of Tupper Lake and Raymond (Patti-Ann) Flagg of Tupper Lake; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren, with another one on the way; and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, his sister Ethel (Pat) Forschein and his brother Leo Jewtraw.

Glenn was born on Jan. 21, 1939, in Saranac Lake, the son of the late Moreland L. and Bessie Jewtraw Flagg. He attended Saranac Lake High School. Glenn married Theresa Liberty on May 12, 1962, at St. Alphonsus Church with Rev. Lamatie officiating. He served in the Army Reserves for eight years. Glenn worked for the Veterans Administration in Tupper Lake for six years before working for New York state Sunmount. After 36 years, Glenn retired in 1995.

Glenn was a kind, loving, generous man with a great sense of humor. He had a passion for gardening and giving to his community. When Glenn began work at Sunmount, he became Boy Scouts of America’s Troop 100 leader and then proceeded to work with Tom Jermano in orchestrating a marching band. In 1973, he was instrumental in the growth of the Tupper Lake Youth Hockey Association, coaching until he was 62. He served many in the community in various ways throughout his life, but most importantly, along with his wife, he raised their five children and several foster children in Tupper Lake and lived for his family.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Tupper Lake Youth Hockey Association or the Tupper Lake volunteer rescue squad.
