Steve Douglas Swinyer

Steve Douglas Swinyer, age 64, of Saranac Lake, died Saturday, Dec. 26, 2020, at his home.

Born in Potsdam on Oct. 1, 1956, he was the son of Glen and Violet (Butterfield) Swinyer.

Steve was a longtime resident of Saranac Lake. He had been employed as a roofer in Rome, New York, moving to Saranac Lake and working with Frank Casier developing land for many years.

He is survived by one son, Jeremy of Saranac Lake; one daughter, Kristen Tyler of Rome; five grandchildren; four brothers: Glen Swinyer Jr. of Vermontville, Jerry Swinyer of Vermontville, Randy Swinyer of Warren, Ohio, and Eric Swinyer of St. Regis Falls; four sisters: Bonnie Sieffert of Rome, Rebecca Kinney of St. Petersburgh, Florida, Lisa Rolley of Lake Placid and Rosanne Brown of Dannemora; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Darrin; and one sister, Rachel Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. A graveside service will take place at the convenience of the family at a later date at Union Cemetery in Vermontville.
