Virginia ‘Ginny’ Haselton

Virginia L. “Ginny” Haselton, age 81, of Wildwood Drive, Lake Placid, passed away Tuesday, June 9, 2020 at Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake. Ginny was born Feb. 25, 1939 in Lake Placid. She is the daughter of the late Robert A. and the late Bernice L. (Lawrence) Lacey.

Ginny was a graduate of Lake Placid High School, where she was a musical prodigy on the violin, as well as accomplished pianist. She graduated valedictorian of her class. She worked for the Law Office of Henry Gelles, the Lake Placid High School and eventually retired from the Lake Placid Village as Village Treasurer. She was an accomplished church organist, and for over 55 years she faithfully served the church and her community. Ginny did everyone’s income tax for years, and was well loved and respected. All in all, Ginny was an amazing human being who touched so many lives. She will be surely missed by many. Ginny is survived by her Son Eric, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 12 at 10 a.m. at the Adirondack Community Church in Lake Placid. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, there will be limited occupancy. Thus, the church is requesting that only family and close friends attend the service to meet state restrictions.

Burial will follow the service and will take place at the Haselton Cemetery in Wilmington.
