Anna K. Hewlett

Anna Hewlett

Anna “Ann” K. Hewlett passed away peacefully at home on April 30, 2020, surrounded by family and the wonderful caregivers of Hospice.

Ann was born Oct. 16, 1933 in Canton. She was the daughter of Hugh and Viola Kelly of Russell.

Ann graduated from Knox Memorial High School and subsequently Canton ATI in 1953.

Her greatest joy was for the love of her husband George Hewlett, who predeceased her on March 16, 2014. Her daughter Kelly also predeceased her on Oct. 13, 1975. She is survived by her sons Richard (Michele), Charles and George (Gina); daughter Carla (John Linehan); and several grandchildren.

Her life was a living example of her Catholic teachings. She was a generous donor to many organizations such as St. Jude, Franciscan Friars, Wounded Warriors and several other Catholic charities. Ann and George were avid travelers. Even after his death, she traveled frequently visiting her kids. She had several hobbies in particular: lover of nature, book reading and creating her tropical backyard garden.

A Mass of Christian burial and interment will be scheduled at a later date at St. Mary’s Church and cemetery in Potsdam.
