Bruce Arnold

Bruce Gordon Arnold, age 71, died peacefully on March 22, 2020 at Saratoga Hospital after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s. The disease may have taken his mind, but his kind demeanor and humor never diminished. Bruce was born on Dec. 27, 1948 in Saranac Lake and was the son of the late Earl and Ruth (Lietzenmayer) Arnold.

Bruce was a graduate of Saranac Lake High School. He attended St. Lawrence University, earning his bachelor’s degree in Religious Studies and a minor in Music. Bruce owned and operated Adirondack Piano Service in Saranac Lake, proudly servicing pianos across the Adirondacks and delighting customers with his signature tunes until he retired in 2016.

Bruce enjoyed playing bass in various bands including Helen Hill, Second Wind, Backspin and The Mix. He was an avid hunter and loved being in the woods and on the lake.

Bruce is survived by his beloved wife, Victoria Arnold; his wonderful children, Jason (Vanessa) Arnold and Dailaesse Chabbott; his adored grandson Noah Arnold and his dear siblings, Glen (Susan) Arnold, Earl (Sandy) Arnold, Carolyn (Jordan) Arnold and Marigold Arnold; along with many close and dear friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date in Saranac Lake.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Bruce’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association of Northeastern New York Chapter, 4 Pine West Plaza Suite 405 Albany, NY 12205, to help find a cure and to bloom the first white flower which symbolizes the first survivor.

With confidence, the family has placed their trust in the loving care of the Townley & Wheeler Funeral Home, 21 Midline Road, Ballston Lake, and they encourage you to view and leave messages on Bruce’s Book of Memories at www.TownleyWheelerFH.com.
