Brenda Lee Thomas

Brenda Lee Thomas of the Alice Center, Malone, passed away on March 7, 2020.

She was born on the Barlow Road in Westville on Dec. 21, 1941. She was the daughter of Marion (Riley) and Clifton Thomas.

Brenda was a graduate of St. Joseph’s Ursuline Academy in Malone. She was very proud to attend this school.

Brenda was a single mom and worked hard all of her life. She had various jobs, but the one she enjoyed the most was working with the elderly as a home health aide. She always enjoyed reading and bowling on the Friday Senior League in her retirement years.

Brenda was a member of the #219 American Legion Auxiliary as a past president and Franklin County ALA, holding positions as secretary and president. She was a member of the Moose Club. She was an election inspector for over 25 years. She loved to travel when she could.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Timothy Munn of Saranac Lake; one son, Tod Golden of Chateaugay; one brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Rosemary Thomas of Greenwich; and two sisters and a brother-in-law: Lynda Van Ess of Plattsburgh, and Ann and Thomas White of Moira. Brenda had four grandchildren: Kellen (fiancee Danielle Kiser) and Nathalie Munn, and Brinn and Nate Golden. She had five nieces and one nephew: Tammy, Cara, Gina, Stephanie, Krista and James, and their families, as well as several cousins.

She was predeceased by her parents, Clifton (April 5, 2003) and Marion (Oct. 5. 1995), and an infant son Thomas, May 2, 1972.

Per her request, there will be no calling hours or church services. There will be a private service at the convenience of the family.

Donations in Brenda’s memory may be made locally to the North Country Animal Shelter of Malone, or Hospice of the North Country, Malone office, or to St. Bernard’s School in Saranac Lake, in care of Spaulding Funeral Home of Malone.
