Jacqueline Hahne

Jacqueline Hahne, 67, of Gulfport, Mississippi, formerly of Gabriels, died Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2020, at her residence.

Jacqueline was born on Aug. 3, 1952, in Saranac Lake, the daughter of John and Margaret H. (Buck) Trummer. Jackie married Robert Hahne on May 18, 1972, at St. Bernard’s Church in Saranac Lake.

Jackie was an avid reader (crime and mysteries) and loved being outdoors. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating and long rides in the country, looking for critters and taking in the scenery. As an animal lover, it wasn’t uncommon for her to have a rescued squirrel or two, and most recently an African grey parrot named T-Bone (Baby). After retirement from Camp Gabriels as a unit secretary with the New York State Division of Parole, Bob and Jackie moved to Gulfport, Mississippi. There she enjoyed year-round rides on the coast with the top down and the casinos. She really loved the slot machines.

Jackie will be forever remembered by her husband of 48 years, Robert; her three children: Rachel (Jason) Fletcher of Key West, Florida, Robert of Saranac Lake and Patrick of Saranac Lake; her three grandchildren: Christjen, Alex and Ayden; and one great-granddaughter, Zoe, who referred to her as Gramma Jelly Bean. She is also survived by her sisters: Linda St. Marie, Laura Nephew, Maggie Willette, Karla Nason and Diana Dudley; and two brothers: John and Joseph Trummer. Jacqueline is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Jacqueline was predeceased by her mother and father.

Funeral arrangements are in the care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home. A traditional Latin Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, Feb. 18, at 10 a.m. at the Funeral Home. Burial will take place in St. Bernard’s Cemetery in Saranac Lake at the convenience of the family in the spring. Family and friends wishing to remember Jacqueline (Trummer) Hahne can share their memories and sign the online guestbook at fortunekeoughfuneralhome.com.
