Gloria G. Amoriell
Funeral services for Gloria G. Amoriell, 79, of Tupper Lake, will be held on Thursday, Dec. 19, 2019, at 6 p.m. at Frary-Stuart Funeral Home with Deacon Gerald Savage officiating. Calling hours will be held from 3 p.m. up until the time of the service on Thursday.
Gloria passed away on Sunday, Dec. 15 at her home. She is survived by her husband Samuel Amoriell of Tupper Lake; her son-in-law Jon Manney of Tupper Lake; one sister, Shirley Brown of Colorado Springs; two brothers, Donald Daunais of Saranac Lake and Anthony Daunais, formerly of Saranac Lake; and many nieces and nephews. Gloria was predeceased by her only son, Stephen Amoriell; two sisters, Francis Dunn and Beverly Dotty; and three brothers: James, Leland and Richard Daunais.
Gloria was born in Saranac Lake on Sept. 14, 1940, the daughter of Leland and Alice (Colby) Daunais. Gloria was married to Samuel Amoriell on Aug. 29, 1964, at St. Bernard’s Church in Saranac Lake. She graduated from Saranac Lake High School and first went to work at Drutz grocery and later worked at the Dress Factory in Saranac Lake. She then was employed at Sunmount DDSO, where she worked as a developmental aide for 26 years, retiring in 1995. Gloria was an avid bowler, enjoyed the casino, cooking and fishing. She adored her cats Charlie and Will, and her dogs Cruz and Cocoa. She also enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
