Emmett J. Ernenwein

A funeral Mass for Emmett J. Ernenwein, 42, will be held on Monday, Oct. 14, 2019, at 10 a.m. at St. Alphonsus Church in Tupper Lake with the Rev. Douglas Decker officiating.

Calling hours will be held on Oct. 13 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Frary-Stuart Funeral Home, Tupper Lake. Burial will take place at St. Alphonsus Cemetery in Tupper Lake following the Mass.

Emmett passed away on Friday, Oct. 4 in Sanford, North Carolina.

He is survived by his parents Gerald and Margaret Ernenwein of Tupper Lake; his wife Faith Ernenwein of Holly Springs, North Carolina; his siblings: Virginia Gordon and her husband Robert of Wesley Chapel, Florida, Kathleen Hewey and her husband D.J. of Hiram, Maine, Luke Ernenwein and his wife Jennifer of York, Maine, Eileen Ernenwein of Johnson City, Tennessee, and David Ernenwein, of Saranac Lake; two stepchildren, Christian and Buddy Burgess, both of Holly Springs, North Carolina; and many nieces and nephews.

Emmett was born on Nov. 30, 1976, in New Hartford, the son of Gerald and Margaret Tobin Ernenwein. He graduated from Old Forge High School in 1996. He worked for Apex Auto as an auto mechanic in Apex, North Carolina.

Emmett was an active member of the Faith Baptist Church in Apex, North Carolina, where he participated on its softball team. Emmett loved his dogs Marley, Hurley and Codi, and enjoyed playing fly ball together. Emmett was instrumental in opening a public dog walking park.
