Doris B. Stickney
Doris B. Stickney, 96, of 1241 Rock St., Bloomingdale, passed away peacefully Oct. 1, 2019, at the Jefferson County Hospice Residence at the Ellis Farm.
She was born on Feb. 21, 1923, in Vermontville, daughter of Leander and Minnie (Patenaude) Begor.
Doris married Ellsworth Stickney, who was killed in 1944, while serving in the U.S. Army during World War II. She would reside in Bloomingdale, where she raised her family. She moved to Watertown in 2018 to reside with her daughter.
She enjoyed making crafts and cooking, and she was a very private person.
Among her survivors are a son, Robert L. Stickney of Reno, Nevada; a daughter, Veronica A. Malambri of Watertown; four grandchildren: Michele (Ralph) Frost, Kevin Johnstone, Kelly (Dan) Lockwood and Lisa Johnstone; five great-grandchildren: Matthew, Sarah, Jessica, Taylor and Madison; a great-great-grandson, James; her sister Cynthia Oliver of Bloomingdale; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and her beloved husband, she is predeceased by a grandson, Dale Johnstone, four brothers and four sisters.
Arrangements are with the Hart & Bruce Funeral Home.
A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 4 at the Brookside Cemetery in Bloomingdale.
