Patricia A. Krueger Barrett

Patricia Ann Krueger Barrett, 77, of Bedford passed away peacefully on Monday, June 24, 2019, at her residence. She was the loving wife of John Howard Barrett.

Born in Buffalo on June 30, 1941, she was a daughter of the late Clarence Albert Krueger and Ruth Fryberger Krueger. Patricia was also preceded in death by a daughter, Meghan Barrett.

Patricia is also survived by her sons Philip Barrett and wife Pamela, and Steven Barrett and wife Linda; grandchildren Gennyfer Barrett, Jacob Barrett, Lindsay Barrett, John Barrett; brother Richard Krueger; and nieces and nephews.

Pat was highly intelligent and organized, competent at any task — from raising a family to supervising church dinners to running a college health service.

Naturally caring and compassionate, she was ideally suited to her 30-plus years of service as a registered nurse.

She lived her Christian beliefs every day of her life. Typically, for several years, she volunteered time and effort to various endeavors in the Bedford community.

Married for over 55 years, she tried diligently to be an exemplary wife, mother and grandmother.

She spent countless happy hours piecing quilts for family and others, but her greatest pleasure was gathering with family and friends.

In later years, even while afflicted by Alzheimer’s, she demonstrated special affection for young children and elderly adults.

Alzheimer’s gradually robbed her of her self-identity, but those of us fortunate enough to know and love her will hold her memory forever. We would like to think that here loving spirit continues on, that perhaps the energy released when she died was passed on to become the first spark of life for an infant soon to be born. Pat would be delighted!
